For the last 2 years, our focus at Georgia Lou Studios has been designing and developing great blogging themes for Blogger/Blogspot and WordPress.org.
We now have 14 beautiful Blogger templates and 8 WordPress themes in our shop. A total of 22 blog designs.
We opened our shop on Etsy in April 2015. That means we’ve released an average of 1 template or theme per month!
That a crazy pace to be creating at! It’s no wonder I’m a little burnt out.
We (being me and my partner-in-crime, my brother Rich) have decided to shake things up a little. Rich is going to focus on creating some cool new accessory products and I’m going back to my blogging roots.
Here’s what it’s all going to look like:
New Blog Designs
Don’t worry. We are going to be working on new theme and templates.
We’re going to mainly be focusing on new WordPress themes. I have 2 new WordPress themes in the works that are specifically designed for Blogger Infopreneurs. Or Infopreneurs who blog.
The first theme, a Genesis theme, is about 1/2 done. It’s crazy awesome.
The second theme will be a similar theme for WordPress Standard. It will have similar features and options but with different styles and be for users who don’t want to use Genesis.
We will also be converting some of our remaining Blogger templates to WordPress including Ashleigh, Justine and more.
As always, we will continue to support our themes and provide important updates and the occasional new features.
The Blog Relaunch
Back in the day, a few years ago, I was a blogger. I has a number of blogs and that’s where I discovered my love of web design and development.
I couldn’t find a blog design that was “exactly right”. So, I learned how to code and did it myself. That turned into Georgia Lou Studios.
I’ve always loved to take things apart and find out how they work. I’m not just happy that stuff works. I want to know HOW it works. And I love that I always have new things to learn when it comes to coding. So, never gonna give that up.
But…I chat with a lot of bloggers on a daily basis. I see their blogs and answer their questions about blogging and their sites. I love helping people figure out how to add a feature to their site or tweak it so it suits them.
But…doing one-on-one customizations here and there or giving our tips about a great plugin to a blogger or two doesn’t really get the message out there. I feel like that’s just a few drops in a giant bucket.
So…I decided to head back to my blogging roots and kick our blog here at Georgia Lou Studios into high gear.
So far I’ve done a few blogging tutorials among the business news posts. Those posts have been a big hit. Our most popular post, the one about Shop the Post widgets, hit the top of Page 1 on Google search for that topic within a week of hitting publish and it continues to bring in regular traffic.
But…again, a few posts here and there don’t feel like enough.
So…I’ve decided to share what I’ve learned over the years about blogging from my experience as well as vast hours of research and observation.
Since I design for bloggers, I read a lot of blogging related articles and tutorials. I’ve seen what works on past blogs and on this one.
And...I’m ready to share my system with you.

Yes. I said “system”.
Now don’t get scared by the idea of some huge, complicated system. My approach to blogging is simple and focused.
If you’ve heard of “Intentional Blogging” or “Slow Blogging”, that’s the basis of my blogging system (to be known from now on as Blogging with Intent).
For those of you who haven’t heard of this recent trend in blogging, Intentional Blogging or Slow Blogging is the practice of blogging less often but publishing epic, timeless or evergreen content.
There are a few reasons why this approach works in today’s internet and we’ll get into all that later.
For now, let me just explain that Blogging with Intent takes this idea and applies it to your ENTIRE blog. From defining your niche and blog topic to informing the design of your site, Blogging with Intent brings focus to your site to help you grow, grow, grow.
The New Blog
The new Georgia Lou Studios blog will combine different elements to help you embrace and use the idea of Blogging with Intent.
First, of course, there will be the regular blog posts.
Expect those about once per week. They’ll be meaty posts (we’re talking 2000 – 3000 words minimum) with actionable steps you can take to improve your blog.
Newsletter Subscription Bonuses
Second, we’ll have exclusive content and upgrades for our newsletter subscribers.
Anyone who opts in to our newsletter will get access to our Free Resource Library.
Each of our regular blog posts will include a Content Upgrade, a printable or worksheet to help you take action with your blog. Newsletter subscribers will have exclusive access to these upgrades when they sign up for our list.
The Free Resource Library will also include access to our free Blogger template and WordPress theme as well as free mini-courses. We’ll be adding new content to the library on a regular basis and as a subscriber, you’ll have access to them all.
Additionally, subscribers will have access to exclusive content. About once per month, we’ll be sharing exclusive content with our newsletter subscribers. These insider posts will include actionable tips plus maybe even a few Challenges and mini-courses to whip your blog into shape.
Finally, subscribers will get early access and discounts for our Premium ecourses.[convertkit form=4943311]
